The Yard Dog Date

How many people actually have dates that include yard work?? Yeah well this girl does! :) Morgan and I had been talking about doing a little landscaping to our front yard and since we both LOVE AZALEAS and the bushes in the flower bed were awful. I was raised where flowers had color and not just leaves. Above is the picture of the house before we began digging in the dirt. We went to a local nursery and got Encore Azaleas. These azaleas bloom in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

This is my whiskey barrel that I filled with pink and red Begonias.

 

 

 I Love planting flowers and making the yard look pretty and here's why. When I was little I would get in the yard with my grandmama and grandaddy and plant azaleas. Those flowers were some of the prettiest I have ever seen. They had pink, red, white,and pink and white ( grandaddy's favorite). I remember I had a song and I can't remember the whole thing but I remember one line that stated " and I'm grandmama's yard dog." Those were the best times when I got to play in the dirt and eat ice cream sandwiches with grandaddy. I thank them for my knowledge of planting because I had to teach Morgan how to plant flowers :)

 Love my Barrel!!

YAY!! We have Autumn Angles and Autumn Embers. When they bloom it will be white and red. Just the other day we had our first bloom. Morgan and I have babied these flowers to no end. Happy Planting Ya'll!!
